The very steamy benefits of excersise
There are so many incredible benefits of exercise. Many of them you will already know like improved sleep, increased concentration, improved skin tone and elasticity, but did you know that not only do you look and feel sexy when you exercise regularly, you actually regulate your sex hormones?
You know those happy hormones you get after a workout, exercise induced endorphins', well they actually stimulate the release of your sex hormones. Testosterone for example, is a key driver for libido in both men and women and getting your sweat on at the gym might just give your libido a little kick. When we excersise we get a serum increase in testosterone, particularly when we focus on our large muscle groups and resistance training. You know those frisky little urges you get, I know it’s not just me, well you can thank testosterone for those.
Libido is one complicated beast especially in women. Hormones, stress levels, nutrition and overall health are just some of the factors influencing how frisky you feel.
Exercise also elevates mood and allows us to feel more relaxed which particularly for my ladies if a must to put you in the mood for lovin. Endorphins' reduce stress which is a major libido killer in both men and women. As we know, we get a nice big hit of endorphins' from excersise and also dark chocolate!
Combine this with the added bonus of improved body image and self esteem in those who exercise regularly and you’ve got yourself one steamy situation. If you’re not spending the whole time worried about how you look to your partner, the intimacy and overall experience is so much more intense. Studies also show that men and women who are more physically fit rate their own sexual performance as well as sexual desirability higher. As the number of days of exercise per week increased, so did the ratings of sexual desirability. The more regular the exercise, the better we feel about ourselves. The better we feel about our body image, the greater our sex drive.
Sex itself is an intense physical activity requiring strength and endurance. As fitness improves so to does the possibility of more varied positions that require more control. The benefits of regular exercise improves your performance by better muscular strength, increased endurance, greater flexibility and increased blood flow everywhere, and I mean everywhere.
Hot, Hot, Hot!!!!
Don’t forget that these hormones are regulated by exercise but production of them requires nourishing on a cellular level through your diet. Particularly important nutrients for sex hormone production are are Omega-3 fatty acids (walnuts, oily fish, hemp oil), Vitamins A (hello carrots and kale), E (pass the almonds and sunflower seeds) zinc and selenium (shellfish is a powerhouse for these guys).
Like everything in life, the key is moderation. Is we are over training the gentle balance of our hormones can easily be shifted the wrong way and sex hormones and exhaustion can work against you.
So get moving my lovelies. Enjoy the many many benefits of regular exercise, in particular a happy and healthy sex life!
